getting behind the wheel of my 2 on sunday after two years

Post by Olls »

After buying the mr2 in late 08 i briefly had it as a daily driver, met up with a few other owners & in general loved it to bits, the car, the boost the comments & looks from people !
Alas it turned out i bought it too early,my insurance was a fortune, the fuel was quite pricey and i couldnt keep on top of it all aswell as household bills etc,so the decision was made to park her up for a while at my parents and wait....
.......I'm now 25, my insurance is a fraction of what i was paying at 23 & i have a diesel runaround as my daily driver so running costs wont be as bad,I really cant wait as apart from taking the 2 for its Mot a few weeks back i havent driven it ( even then it was at 30 mph the whole way lol )
I'm looking forward to just having it as a weekend toy too, something to look forward to in the week.
I'm going down to my parents on saturday for a day of cleaning/pottering and driving it back the next day \:D/ :thumleft:

P.S my fiance last saw it 2years ago since then ive fitted a twin exit exhaust/scoop/border style kit amongst other bits so i'm hyped for her to see it too !

I'm finding mine is easier to see under most modern cars rather than over or through the back window haha...

Just dont forget that its RWD!! it doesn't take long for you to get complacent with it and thats when they tend to bite! I find its not so much when your giving it poke, its when your driving normally, let your mind wonder and pull off from a roundabout or T-junction in the damp slightly too quick -like your in a FWD car.. next thing you know your fighting for control!!

Im about to go from a year of driving a ford escort 1.8 into my mr2 which will be putting down hopefully 500 bhp at the wheels! i have never drove a car that powerful before, closest being mine again last summer when it had 370 whp !
