Alternator Large bolted wire ?

I have just checked the voltage and all the ones in the plug are 12 V but the large bolted one has no voltage, I believe it should have 12 V wheres does this wire come from ?

you mean teh white thick one held on by a 10mm nut (or 12) on side of alternater? it runs up into fuse box in engine bay then 2 red and black (thick) goes through car to frunk to battery, check to see if any of its corroded

that thick wire that goes to the battery goes to the starter motor

what thick wire? one from alternater to fuse box , through car to battery to charge it..... it doesnt go anywhere near the starter motor ,

you said the black/red thick wire that goes to the front (frunk) goes to the alternator, if you mean the one thats inside the car under the centre tunnel trim then that wire goes from the pos battery terminal to the starter motor

no i mean the two thick wires (red and black), that connect to the big alternater wire in the fuse box in the bay, that travel down the passanger side of the car under carpet to the frunk to the battery terminal .....its definatly not for the starter motor
