There was a stunning Corolla GT up for 8K that was a restoration. Bit on the pricey side, but I'm guessing it won't need much doing to it, if anything.

There is a better ad of it somewhere with better pics. They are out there, is just a waiting game for the right one to come along.

It's really weird how the specs differ though, I mean leccy windows on the GT but manual door mirrors, whereas I've got wind up windows and leccy door mirrors and erm an electric sun roof.

GT's though have good interior colours and that car looks absolutely mint, albeit at a price. UK cars seem to fetch a bit more than imports.

WOW £7750 for that '85 :o
I don't mind them, I wouldn't buy one and if I did I don't think I'd spend more than a grand on one.

Do they really fetch that kind of money?

Tbh Craig, you'd be lucky to buy a completely rotten shell for a grand. It would be pretty much impossible to buy a roadworthy 86 that was falling apart for a grand. Even the very rough ones tend to be 2K+.

Anything in what is considered good condition is 5K+, so 5-6K for a good one and over 7K for something mint.

They do fetch that kind of money, though it is a bare shell restoration. I paid £5450 for mine, (was up for 5.9K) so they aren't cheap.

Look at how many wanted ads there are for 86's. I think prices have got a little more sensible in recent years, but they are certainly a car that really holds it's value.

I honestly didn't realize they went for that kind of money, as I'd never searched for one for sale.

Just presumed it was just an old Corolla from the 80's that would probably cost around as much as a decent condition MK1 MR2!

That really is shocking, the price they command!

I like bender units wide arch one, but thats the only one I've really seen.

Have a look:

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/list.a ... mit=Search

Way above MR2 prices I'm afraid. The only upside really is that it's a depreciation free car really if you buy well. The web is full of AE86 stuff as is youtube.

James's car has the N2 kit on but there are loads of cool looking AE86's around.

They have a huge following, especially in the rallying circles

LOL at the vid!

I guess I would need TRD seats to go with those runners though Jeff! So probably best to advertise them elsewhere. Thanks anyway.

If I change the Bride seat which I might as it's not all that IMO, I would go for Recaros.

TE37s are lovely, though think I'm on the look out for something a bit more old school. :+:

I'm not intending to, no. I may change the Bride recliner for a Recaro recliner, but can't really go fitting buckets as I need access to the rear seats.
