Buying large exhaust gaskets? Nur-Spec

Post by mattgt »

Was hoping to pick some up tomorrow to get my new exhaust on, anyone know of a nationwide place that stocks them? I need 2 x "two hole" and 1 "three hole"

80mm and 74mm

Or is it going to be a online jobbie?

Cheers

I got these from my local motor factors. Think they were made by Bosal. They had a 2 and 3 bolt one on shelf and fitted my dep2 perfectly

Be wary about the cheaper e-bay jobbies...I have had 2 from a guy on there...3" 3 hole mani gaskets...just blew straight out...within a day...both times....but deffo post up where you get yours from, cos I need to get another for my Dep2.

No the pressure will just blow it out. Give your local tyre/kwikfit type place a shout.

You might get away with re-using the old gaskets with some paste on :-k Think that two of them where in good nick so would be ok small bit broke off the one though but it might work with a good amount of paste. Could be worth a go.

Not sure if its cheaper from here http://www.blitz-uk.co.uk/Product-14.aspx

Could be possible to buy a sheet of the material and make some poss :-k

Didnt think you sent the gaskets?? If you did it looks like im gonna have to sift through the bin to find them amongst the packing!

Tried old gaskets and paste...just blew out after a day...it's really hard to cut the mani gasket from a sheet of that gasket stuff without fking it.
Tmrw, I'm gonna just slap mine together without gaskets and use exhaust paste...remember to wash, rub down and wipe the surfaces, then wipe with a moist cloth before pasting up...I bought 3 new M10 stainless steel bolts/nuts for a snug fit and ease of lamping up really tight...essentially, as it was before i took it all apart to weld my flexi...no gasket and no blow.
