Hole in Chassis Leg

Post by mairead04 »

Hi
My dad has just noticed a hole in one of the chassis legs in my MR2, he says it looks like the other one has a patch on it from the previous owner. I need to know is it legal to get the hole welded and is it dangerous to drive. I'm sorry if it sounds silly my first car was a vauxhall Nova and the cross member went and the garage said it was illegal to fix it so I am just worried that my White Stallion is facing the scrap yard and I will have no car
Any advice most appreciated

Yes it can be welded.

Dangerous to drive thats a matter of opinion, however it would fail an MOT.
