Discussion and technical advice the SW20 MR2. 3S-GTE, 3S-GE, 3S-FE etc
Anything and everything to do with maintenance, modifications and electrical is in here for the Mk2.
Just fitted two new rear calipers, and pads because the old one was siezed, i think there still air in the system because the brake pedal doesnt feel 100% and the brakes arnt there best first pump. Im going to try again tonight but ive heard that you need to reset the brake pedal is this true? can anyone tell me i have searched but not found anything.
The pistons need to be screwed inwards to the full extent and then unscrewed 180 degrees, this re-sets the handbrake mechanism.
If you buy some caliper tools from screwfix or ebay, it makes the job a little easier.
I will second that about buying the caliper rewind tool did mine last week and it's a god send.
Get the redline one off eBay got mine for £20 delivered it's well worth it
Is there a set size of tool required for this as i am about to do my brakes.
When i go on the bay you can buy sets or single tools.
Can someone confirm the right one
i didnt use that tool, because the calipers were brand new you could turn them with a set of needle nose pliers with ease, i gave the system a full change to 5.1 fluid and there much better now
