Cheers for the offer but the reason I got this head is because it's been heavily pitted and polished, multi angle valves and has high lift cams and HKS pulleys on it already. I exchanged my original rev2 head believing this head was the same as mine but with all the work done on it already.

No worries, just being a bit of a joker!

Sorry I can't be of any more help, as my experience of your problem ended when it turned out the threaded hole for the pulley wasn't there.

Good luck sorting it out :thumleft:

just have this niggling thought that if I rip out the wiring, then the car will never get out of the garage again.

Still in the garage...

Why not just drill and tap the holes you need in the head?

Not sure the spring tensioner is the way to go as Toyota must have changed them after a short time as I have never seen one and am unable to find them in the engine or parts manual

Don't really want to drill it just incase anything happens plus the tensioner bolts are in a lug on the left of the head. There is no lug like this on mine.

It sounds like it must be a very early 165 head, not a 185 and yes please take some photos

I've got a complete rev1 head complete with valves, cams, cam cover, cam gears that is surplus to requirements ;)
