I am getting a dry sump pump designed and they are asking for the standard pressure at a RPM and temp.
Anyone know what it is please.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] What is stock oil pressure?
When warm (circa 85d C) at idle (850-900RPM), my oil pressure is 2 bar.
Not sure if that's any help or not?

Yes thats a start, thanks.
So 28 psi at 900 rpm, would you know what it is at say 6800?

At that RPM, I'd say the bypass valve would limit pressure? Deffinately on a cold(ish) engine and possibly on a warm engine?
I don't know off the top of my head, but my oil pressure gauge has a peak hold, so I'll have a look in a bit and see what the maximum pressure has been (which by my logic should be the bypass valve opening point?).

Yes it will be.
Thanks again.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] What is stock oil pressure?
5.7ish bar so about 85psi I'd guess?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] What is stock oil pressure?
my peak was 7 bar just before the limiter on my rev3 turbo, oil @ about 80-85 degrees c, idle at the same temp was 2.2bar

Where are you taking your pressure reading from dan, out of interest? Mine is from the OE location on the cylinder head.
I don't think the idle pressure is as important as it's conditional on too many variables (oil grade, age of oil, engine milage and wear etc).

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] What is stock oil pressure?
measurement was taken from an adaptor between oil filter/block for my greddy oil cooler

Im reading near on the same as dans readings, my readings are taken from the oem head position. Built engine
Dead on 3bar at idle, 7bar at 6,000rpm+, oil temp around 78/85 Deg
stock isnt that soup or something.....?

Where is the 'best' place to take oil pressure readings from?

Still in the garage...
..the only thing I can promise for sure is slow progress.

just have this niggling thought that if I rip out the wiring, then the car will never get out of the garage again.

The pressure "should" be the same wherever you take the reading from.
Id take it from the same place as the oem sensor, its the furthest away.
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] What is stock oil pressure?
Cheers, thats what I decided on. Ordered a splurged so I can fit my gauge sensor as well as the stock one.
