Ebay Headlight Upgrade

Post by Steve-O 2007 »

I bought a set of these at 10pm thursday night as recommended by Rev1Richie -

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 392wt_1199

And They arrived today (I was expecting Monday at the earliest!!)

They are glass and marked with the E marking and what a difference to the stock lights!!

I will let the pics do the talking -

Notice how the light is more clearer on the bumper compaired to the dull look of the old light

Very nice Steve

It says on the advert that the light pattern is generated by the reflector which allows the lens to be clear [as in modern cars] which makes good sense.

A good set Osram Nightbreakers in these mate and it'll be like driving in daylight :thumleft:

but for half the price, seems like a good deal if you can live without the "well known" name stamped on the lens ;P

Saw these the other day and assumed they must be plastic for that price!

Very good, let us know if you have any condensation issues to due bad sealing etc...

Will add to the Christmas list :D

They look well sealed, you just need to cut 3 slots out of the rubber bung that goes on the back so the pins from the bulbs can pop through

Park side by side to a car that has Raybrigs and you wont tell the difference unless your right upclose inspecting them

To be honest I find them no better at night, however im using bog standard bulbs. I'm wondering if id need to use some super brilliance etc bulbs to take advantage of the new fangled light design :?

havent tried them at night yet but the light comes out clearer and Im using 40% brighter bulbs. Im not too bothered anyway as it looks miles better than the stock lights :)

Could you get away with using HIDs in these due to them being reflection style headlights (as the bulb is being covered) compaired to the stock headlights where the bulb isnt covered?

Try the Osram Nightbreaker lights Ryan, I have a set cost £13.39 delivered and they are the dogs. I haven't any pics yet as I am fitting them to my Rogue Rev 6 units but ask anyone else they are just a little less bright than HIDs but are fully legal for road use and MOT.

I changed from standard bulbs to Osram's, the difference is quite noticeable - I found myself wondering how come I can see the side of the road now!? i didnt see that before ? so yeah, if upgrading the lenses, definately go for better bulbs for a real improvement.
