[Mk2] [Generic] Ganador mirror wiring

Post by BLZ-8027 »

For those that have fitted these mirrors ,could you tell me how the wiring colours match up ,the plug on the mirrors is a different shape and size to the plug on the car

Ive searched through the site, and cant find anything relating to the wiring
also does anyone know how they come apart, so they can be sprayed ?

Well i finally got chance to finish these mirrors today
i was going to strip out the three wires from the mirror plug, and fit them one by one into the mirror loom ,
however the more i looked at the plug the more i thought it might fit ,so i cut off the two sides to make the plug smaller ,and it fitted straight in and worked ,so no need to mess about trying wires

Heres how the wires match up ,

Ganador mirror plug

Image

cut down plug connected to mirror loom
(it will only go one way to make the connectors match)

Image

so its
Black to Blue
Brown to red/brown
Blue to green

Also depends on your current set up ,if you have the five or seven wired mirrors the ganador are plug and play anyway

Need them painting now

Thanks for that. I didn't get the harness/plug with mine but this will help me hardwire them in :thumleft:

I thought your car was black, can I see cosmosblue or shall I book into specsavers?

I'm gonna chop the plug off my standard mirrors to 'plug-in' to the car harness like they would be normally, then solder the other end directly onto the mirror... from what I remember there are 3 pins on a chip board inside the ganador(i'm missing the plug that would clip onto that board).

The plug in your pic does that plug straight onto the mirror?

Get hold of the base plate bit, grab the mirror part and push it backwards and away from the base plate.

If they are still fitted to the car place your palm facing flat onto the mirror and push away, probably easier to sus out how they separate whilst still fitted to the car.

You should get them to part enough to get them sprayed, my bodyshop wedged something inbetween to keep them apart, from what I remember they are held together by springs which look like a pita to refit into place once taken out.

They are spring loaded ,and dont look easy to go back together ,im just going to remove the glass to paint them ,and as you say wedge the actual mirror away from the baseplate
thanks
