whats the difference between the two?
my V6 is a sunroof/moonroof model, its a rev1 (for what its worth) with no power steering or abs)
is the tin top noticeably stiffer or not, i appreciate if i were to swap the stuff over to a tin tin top shell its a lot of work so is it worth it?
I am also aware that any weight saved over losing the sunroof will be lost if i got a car with power steering and abs. so i guess the main question is the chassis stiffness. the currently has a std front brace (useless i guess) and no rear brace, these i know will need to be added.

i can imagine that one, but i cant see as there would be much in the moonroof/tin top as the front and rear screens are still connected

am not sure how true this is....
however the rev5 brouche i got off flashharry states hardtop as 1270kg and the tbar as 1380kg....(turbo model)
im not quite sure if there is actually that much difference, seems a bit extreme to me....
ill have another look, but thats rev5 weights!!!
id imagine the rev1/2 maybe slightly lighter with no abs, side impact bars and all that business..
however the rev5 brouche i got off flashharry states hardtop as 1270kg and the tbar as 1380kg....(turbo model)

i would hope to get my rev1 moonroof with no abs or ps, and light weight seats/wheels down to 1150 if possible - without going extreme or spending silly money on carbon parts

Just to compare, the UK rev5 brochure has 1285kg for the moonroof, and 1310kg for the t-bar.

you have got a v6 though mate... thatll add a fair chunk of weight..

It's almost completely irrelevant to your question but my MK2 turbo rev3 (Power Steering, tintop, ICE) with half a tank of fuel and me in it came out at 1410kg. I reckon I'm 70-80kg and half a tank of fuel is about 20kg.
Remember the weights that manufacturers quote are usually dry weights.

BLIMEY those abs sensors must be at least 10kgs each though
