[Mk2] [Turbo] t28 queries......

Post by Ryan S »

hi peeps, just kinda curious about this to be honest, i've seen(heard of) a few people running t28's, are these the same t28's of the 200sx?? the s14 model?? if so, what kind of modifications would i be looking at to fit one, obviously manifold(seen ones for sale for the mr2) but what about the downpipe?? would i have to source a downpipe to fit the t28 then modify to fit the rest of the exhaust?? also, what about oil lines(dunno if it has water lines)

anyway, thanks in advance, any info much appreciated :thumleft: :thumleft: :thumleft:

Hi Mate

got one of these on my turbo its actually a gt28
to get mine to fit not hard actually my garage did it lol so was easy for me

adapter from fensport to fit to rev 3 manifold
used standard gasket from manaifold to adapter
gt28 downpipe easily available
then gaskets for downpipe and otherside of adapter
braided oil and water lines
just had to fab a bracket for the actuator

apparently mine is rated upto 420bhp we shall see

dunno, just trying to find out what info i can, the t28 off the 200's are good turbos, i had one on my s13 as an upgrade against the t25, held boost great and no major lag, if i can get one to fit the mr2 i will do it, i have one spare at my brothers workshop, don't want to go buying adapters etc if it's not gonna fit though :)

haha, yeah this is very true, i want it to be as "bolt on" as possible though :thumleft: if the exhaust manifold flange is the same as the GT28 then it should be fine, i read on a GTiR site that they are very very similar and the flange is the same, if that's the case i can just get a gt28 manifold and a t28 turbo elbow, i'm prett certain i'd have to fab the turbo elbow onto the downpipe though, the good news is that you can get the turbo elbow with divorced downpipe right off of ebay for cheap :)

just want somebody to confirm or not confirm that the flanges are the same :)

If you look here

http://www.turbo-mopar.com/forums/vbart ... ticleid=62

There are a number of drawings with dimensions.

You'll get flanges here
