The one i've just found under my centre CD/storage box?
I'm stripping the interior to fit some flashing luminescent stickers for my alarm and to get some ICE installed. I've come across a silver metal box on the rear bulkhead between the seats.
i've only ever had REV1's & 2's but this is my first REV3, can't remember seeing this box before, then again my memory is terrible.
What's this box for then?

Re: What's this box for then?
something to do with the oem stereo
Re: What's this box for then?
So i can remove it then?
Only the ICE install is going to be all new without using the OEM wiring as it'd melt

Re: What's this box for then?
dont know what it does specifically but will probably be made redundant if starting from scratch
Re: What's this box for then?
...........and you're sure the car will still run without it?
Re: What's this box for then?
lol, yes, assuming we are talking about the same box
i suppose though it is not out of the question that it has already been removed and the box you are looking at is something else, immobiliser related or something (just looking at worse case scenario)
unplug it and see

Re: What's this box for then?
It's the DSP box for the top of the range Toyota headunit.
Pain in the bum having this unit, as none of the autoleads adapter cables fit!
