Is there a particular reason you need to keep all the interior? I know its a daily driver but I used my stripped-out, bucket seated, roll-caged NA as a daily driver (i'm an accountant  ). You get used to it, I actually miss the noise.

If it's MSA sprinting in a roadgoing class then everything originally fitted in the interior must be present and working with the exception of seats which can be replaced with buckets or similar on safety grounds.

But in the OP he says there is another mr2 completely stripped out, so it's obviously not against the rules of this sprint.

Weight reduction is the single best thing you can do to a low powered car, and would be the way to go IMO.

What size wheels have you got? If they are 16's you can lose over 10kg of unsprung weight and get more feedback with a front 4-pot upgrade (retaining the handbrake at the rear).

Of course the cheapest thing to do as has been mentioned is to lose every gram of spare weight!
