its goodbye to the mr2.. and a massive thanks

Post by redmr89 »

well guys ive been on here for 7 years and after 7 years of mr2 ownership, its time to move on. its unbeleivable the emotional attachment you get to a car. and driveing away from it in my new car was hard.
its been a great car, a few problems but fantastic performance and handling for a 20 year old car.

id like to take this time to give a massive thanks to imoc and its members. youve all been a great help and support over the years. id like to thank individuals but theres just too many of you.

massive massive thanks guys and girls. :thumleft:

ps. i'll still be lurking round the forum, there just no better banter on the net. :D

Which tt did you buy and what do you think so far? It matters little since you'll soon be back....
Glad you enjoyed the 2, nice to chat and have as much fun but perhaps less maintenance with the german boat.

i got the mk1 225hp quattro. full leather, bose stereo, cruise controll, aircon, traction control etc etc, in what i think is called "denim blue" its kinda dark blue.

loving it so far, not as quick as the mr2 but it handles quite well for a front engined car and the quattro drive gives awesome grip in the wet and dry.

it feals a very safe car, for once in 7 years i can enter corners without worrying what direction the cars going to be facing coming out..

much better fuel economy too, but im guessing thats because of the newer engine against my 21 year old 3sgte.

i actually went out looking for an a3 quattro then stumbled across the tt, less room in the back but built on the same platform.

only thing im missing so far is the raw accelaration of the mr2 but im guessing with a few mods the tt might catch up.
