Front mount intercooler?

Post by 37831999 »

Hi does anyone know of a front mounted intercooler set up being used? Was thinking of running one with a NX exPress nterCooler system and big turbo? Was thinking this would be good on a drag strip?

Its not a very good idea. The pipework is too long for air to flow through without adding massively to lag. On the dragstrip i suppose it might be better, especially if you ran the pipework straight through the cabin like Phoenix Power did, but it would be awful on the street.

Front mount chargecooler rad is fine though, because the air only flows a short way, but the liquid that cools it is steadily pumped from the c/c core up to a rad at the front of the car.

If you just want a big I/C, just go bootmount.
