How the frickin' hell do I remove my disc?

Post by Amelio »

No matter how hard I hit them with a hammer they just will not come off. I gave up because I started to hear stuff rattling around in the hud so I've probably f***ed that too.

Saturday was a very frustrating day

There is a threaded hole to help you with this, you'll find that the threaded bar that holds the spare wheel in place fits in here if you can't find a suitable bolt yourself.

Are those the two little holes on the disc? So I'm supposed to screw a bolt inside these?

Spraying WD40 around the stud holes an leaving overnight may assist. The Threaded bolt holes on the disc are likely to strip if you're not careful. I would insert a bolt to take up some strain then hit the disc with a hammer. The combine effect may dislodge things. You will also be successful using some heat on the centre part of the disc

Had this "problem" aswell.
Just hit really hard lol, or screw a bolt into it.

Dont forget to sand down the place behind the disc a bit, and grease it ;)

Did it...did it again...and again several times after that.

Absolutely no movement whatsoever.

That appears to be the only option left.

lol ^^

Just use the threaded holes in the disc, they're there for you to jack the disc off should it be siezed. 2 bolts, 2 minutes work and you're done.

you doing the rear discs? Handbrake might be holding them on. If you are doing the rears then try taking the handbrake off. Making sure you properly "chock" the wheels so that the car doesnt roll etc........

Obviously everything is off...handbrake, caliper, wheel etc etc

I've just never come across a disc like this before.

No fear, could be the answer aswell.

Wise Chinese words:

You must not hit the disc, but hit the man behind it.

bash the hub part of the disc from the side as hard as you can, turn the disc slightly and keep bashing.
