Any tubby owners have any thoughts on the mods - sensible or not?

Cheers

Twin turbo? Rookie mistake lol:):) although it does have some nice mods, although as stated, 300bhp on 444's? They'd be at 100% duty,to be honest, I think that could possibly be a mistake, with all those other mods and to not upgrade the injectors? But then he is calling it a twin turbo!

Does the dyno print out not show 311bhp?

And no mention of an aftermarket ECU controlling the aftermarket mods?

Sam, the stock 440's are really only good for about 270hp max AFAIK, I'm sure someone will be along soon to confirm.

Yeah that's about right, AND, that would be at 100% duty, and also as you said mate, no mention of an aftermarket ecu, but again, could be a simple mistake because why would you go to the trouble of fitting forgies etc? Bit of a strange one this :-k

You are forgetting about the TRD badging mentioned in the add

No mention of uprated HG either, also it has adjustable camber arms, what are they?

Sure it says it has a stainless steel head gasket, to be honest, I get put off when people call them twin turbos, just indicates to me they don't know very much.

Could be a little misinformed and bought it like this? I like the look of the car, I'd ask him a few questions though.

He does say he has all receipts for work carried out,
which should be easy to check, and if correct, then the price is quite good.

Engine bay looks very tidy, and says someone has taken a great deal of time and effort to get it that way.

No afm says rev3 conversion
autopista style rear boot lid spoiler.

worth a phone call and a chat i would have thought

Not an ECU, but theres a Apexi AFC in one of the photos.

I'd say thats a Rev 1 engine - dont the Rev 1's have the narrower throttle body?

it's a Rev1 car... so the engine is more than likely still the original Rev1 block.

I would draw your attention to the Dyno plot.
It's got a CT20b sized turbo, that plot shape is all wrong!

Frankly I think the wheels slipped or the dyno had a brain fart.
You are looking at a ~250bhp car and no more.

be more concerned about the strange 50+hp increase from 6 to 7k rpm.

that certainly wouldnt happen with any setup i know of unless the car had some strange ignition timing issues which sorted themselves out very late in the revs...

240+lb on a rev1/2 running 1.2bar is certainly very low IMO....id expect 270-290lb really.

other than that, bay looks nice, rev1 tb takeoff, still stock ic which id be concerned with running 1.2bar.

but the cams, pullies, new ct20b and rebuild sounds nice mods. tho is the engine running ok to make as a say 50hp from such a high rpm range.

also, for anyone concerned, 440s certainly arnt at there limit at 270hp...if your talking in terms of running 80% duties, maybe, but at 100% duties, theyll make way behond 300hp...
ive seen someone make 280 at the wheels with 440s on a built engine.

if the guy is running uprated fpr, he will increase his fueling capabilities if the base pressure is raised...
but with no ecu to control this little lot, asking for trouble.

its possible the afm is inside that box, but otherwise it may well be running a rev3 ecu? and he ment 540s? not 444?

That's who I'm refering to :-)
Tho 280atw is closer to 330flywheel than 350 really

But still over 300 can be had.
But you'll be running a less than ideal 100% duties there and start leaning out behond the recommended safe afr of 11.5:1

I phoned the guy about this and he says he took it as a trade in therefore knows very little about the mods... Neither do i since this would be my first move from NA to turbo so it's maybe best to pass on this one?
