Except that the PS2 has sold twice what the Wii has, and the original Playstation, the DS and the Gameboy have also sold more than the Wii worldwide.

Nice try though. ;)

Sorry, for some reason i read your comment asif you were trying to refer to another time motion control had been tried and hinting it had failed.

If MS can get a console package out for £200 - £220 this xmas with kinect and a game then i reckon theyll have a pretty good Xmas.

Cant wait to see if im wrong but as soon as MS start the advertising (remembering Joe Bloggs probably doesnt know it exists yet) then well see a big uptake in both kinect and move.

Pointing a little stick at the screen isn't the same as having to make stupid 'gestures' stood up in your living room.

No but the concept is there and Kinect looks like how i thought the wii was gonna be but in HD.

Even playing Zelda on the Wii requires you to hack in the air like you have a sword.

Theres definately no concern with people finding space to play....

Kinect is going to fail miserably. It is miles inferior not only to Wii Motion plus but also Move. Move offers the best 1-1 movement ever seen in gaming. Kinect is just a fancy Eye toy.
The interface is clumsy, slow and awkward. Controllerless gaming certainly wont work for many years.

MS were rightly laughed at after E3. Their whole conference stank bar a few sequels. They needed to give away a bunch of Slim 360s to get a cheer!

Anyone who thinks Kinect is a good idea must be a MS fanboy.

For the record I am not a huge fan of motion control myself, just that Move and Wii are far better.

Why is it? I know several people who went to E3. They all didn't like it.

What about Kinect actually looks good then?
It offers HD, nice but little else.
Most of the demos at the conference were faked also. The 1-1 movement is quite a bit behind Move. It will not work for fast, action intense gaming and without a form of controller it is horrible limited.

It is hugely expensive also.

So you've never played on either Move or Kinect of them, and have as much idea about how much it will cost in the UK as the rest of us (i.e. none, it's a guess) and yet you're writing it off as rubbish and overpriced?

Personally I have my doubts too, but I'm going to wait for a final retail version to hit the shops before I write it off completely.

That's fair Ekona. Perhaps I am a little hasty but I can't see it being anything other than a failure. It costs a lot to get up and running from scratch and the more casual market that made the Wii a success won't invest in such a product.

You say it costs too much and stick up for the Move?

The Move is atleast double the price and theres no announcement on the price of kinect?

#-o

And i can say atleast without knowing the Kinect price before anyone jumps on me :-P

Kinect has support for 4 players. You need to buy 3 seperate things totalling around £130 for 1 players on Move. Even at the highest price of £150 for kinect, its still a bargain compared with Move.

Dunno where you are getting your pricing from Sam, the starter pack with the move controller and camera is only £49.99 and you don't really need the additional controller as yur can use the sixaxis.

Even if you did buy the other one it's £24.99

Hmmm maybe i slightly over estimated.

Still works out at more money.

Depends what your gonna play though. Read a few stories saying the whole bundle thing is way too confusing.

Where the confusion comes into play is just there: what consumers will need to get into motion controlling for their PlayStation 3. For example, for games like SOCOM 4, a Move controller plus a Navigation controller is required for the full motion controlled experience(although it is possible to gimp it by using a DualShock 3 instead of a Navigation controller) whereas for a motion control-required title like The Fight: Lights Out, two Move controllers are required.

So what you need depends on the game.

The six axis also requires 2 hands surely?
