If money was no object then a 3D prototype could be done with Stereolithography.

You could either make the moulds or the body.

we use a specialist company)to make rapid prototypes of our comms radios at work although 3D CAD has become so powerful these days we rely on Stereolithography les and less.

You can have solid white or clear plastic.

The advantage is that you can draw it with tremendous accuracy on a PC and then this process can effectively print it out in 3D.

You can create shapes that impossible with normal machining etc.

However, the cheapskate way to do it would be to make a dummy using a robust form of papier mache and then use that as a reference to make moulds.

This could have loads of uses and the project would probably never end as people could add stuff in the interior etc etc
