what are people doing with there 5 inch sub box hole behind the drivers seat?
I know some people have put 6x9 on top of the boxes but im not to keen to cut them up. i am up grading the door speakers.
but im at a lost what to do with the sub box...seems a waste not to use it.....but with something more than the standard speaker
any advice greatly appreciated.

I unscrewed the stock cubby covers, and made an MDF plate to hold a 6 x 9 and screwed it over the top.
But,
they sound rubbish. The bass is limited, and has a hollow, boomy sound. Part is due to the cheap 6 x 9, part is probably the quality of my fitting (could do with dynamat etc).
Looking back, I should have gone straight down the sub & amp route. There are 5" and 6" subs around, but quite a few people in this forum have got 8", 10" or even 12" subs behind the drivers seats.
But whatever you do, the standard speakers are kak and need throwing away.

I will at somepoint in the near future have some custom boxes for sale. house a 8" JL audio sub, which after you removed the lids, slip into the boxes for a flush finish. look the nuttys.
I took a hacksaw to mine at the front where the sub bolts in and installed my CD changer in the box so that the front is just sticking out so that you can change the disc magazine. The unit cannot be seen by nosey barstewards looking in through the window.
I have a 10" sub behind the drivers seat.
