For the Rev2+ cars are the only after market shocks available the yellow bilstiens? Apart from coilovers.

To the best of my knowledge, yes. It's either standard shocks from Toyota, Bilstein B6 or rebuilding original shock absorbers with inserts.

theres g max too. i had them on my old astra and rover coupe. the springs were not low enough on either of those cars though.

I'v heard Koni are alright. Not sure if anyones tried them? They do a kit: http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pages/ ... t=15346264 Was thinking about getting some new shocks myself so would be interested in others advice.

tried spax and koni inserts and they are ok on the softer settings.
used -40mm springs with the koni and -30 with the spax.
even on the bumpiest b roads i could find they were not too harsh when set to the lower settings.

the koni's lasted 5 years of hard driving, drifting and track days.

only replaced the konis with spax as they were 30quid cheaper and it's only a daily driver.

they did kill a lot of drop links though.

Don't discount a secondhand set of black billies.....

PS If you're considering yellows for a daily driver be aware I've just replaced under warranty my second front strut (the first went 9mths or so ago) put on my daily driver less than 2 yrs ago with Teins. The strut is replaced but I'm still left paying for the diagnostic and swap work. May depend on your springs though?
