My work equips were in very poor condition, paint missing, flakey, bubbled,
one rim had been kerbed by me,quite deeply.

I stripped them apartand took them to a place in wednesbury west mids,
he polished the rims to near perfect, dipped, cleaned and sprayed the centres and caps.
I resealed them according to the great post on here(jeff d i think)
new tyres,which i overpressured(off car)and they are sealed fine,
i'm very pleased with the results, total cost £148
Not near london i know, but my point is that the job willbe a lot cheaper if you split them yourself.
the guy stayed up till 3.30 am bank holiday sunday morning to complete them.

slarty,
They look really good, made a fine job of them :thumleft:

Antknel,
i sealed them with silicone sealant, marine grade, easily got hold of.
Trick is not to put too much on,works made the recess for the sealant
in an upside down pyramid shape, when you put air in the tyres it forces this wedge shaped seal even further into the rim, clever eh?
