REV 1 Turbo tin top--non runner

Post by PFrazier »

Taking offers on a H reg REV 1 Turbo tin top. Car has been SORN'd for two years and has had the turbo/DP/IC and exhaust removed as these were all upgraded items

Its a GT model, so has alcantra seats/door panels/folding mirrors and turning fogs. PS/PW/PDL. Car also has auto climate, but the AC compressor was removed prior to me purchasing it.

IIRC the car has somewhere around 95000 miles on it. I had to swap the speedo and tach when I bought it as both were not working correctly. I will check on the mileage and update

I do have the original CT-26 that will go with the car. It was working fine when removed. Will also include a top mount intercooler setup.
I may have the OEM Dp with cat, just need to look for it.
Will also include a custom dual muffler exhaust.
Will also throw in a complete set of lowering springs--they were only on the car for a few weeks as they rode a little to rough for me. I think they were badged as Falken.

Nearly 100% complete interior and is in good condition. Drivers seat shows usual wear on side bolster.
Turbo timer installed
No stereo
Blitz boost gauge installed into factory gauge cluster

Car had alot of parts replaced just prior to being taken off the road:
Brake pads and rotors all around
Timing belt/tensioner/water pump/hoses and belts
Radiator
Clutch and pressure plate
New front drop links
Replaced drivers window regulator

Car also has REV2 front lip fitted
REV3 springs/struts
Has REV 3 wheels that were refinshed prior to me purchasing them. Tires are in need of replacement

Body is in reasonably good shape, paint is faded from sitting, but will cleanup with some work.
Small amount of rust on drivers door silll--had this treated/painted in 2006, but the shop must not have done a good enough job. Small dent in bootlid. Probably some other minor scratches etc.. but nothing extreme

RH headlight won't raise and lower now, I never had a problem with the lights while the car was on the road from 2006-2008. I haven't looked into it yet. Probably just a bad motor.

The nutplates in the rear subframe for the control arms need to be cleaned up with a tap(which I have, cost me nearly 15 quid) also have new bolts from Toyota.

Has original tail lights installed

Dyno'd the car in 2008 at TDI. With SMIC and Berk exhaust and running stock boost it put down 200 hp/and torque. the car has never been run above stock boost

Pics from when it was on the road--Will try and snap current pics in the next day or so.

Just to clarify...You removed the Turbo, Downpipe, Intercooler and Exhaust that were aftermarket parts but you do have the original ct26 turbo and downpipe and an intercooler and exhuast that would be included in the sale?

You also say that you started the engine recently.

Is this basically a non runner due to the lack of Tax and MOT?

I have the original turbo, a top mount IC and a custom dual exhaust. Need to check on the OEM DP with cat.

Was starting to upgrade the motor and found another car already setup how I wanted it, lost interest in this car.

Installed fresh injectors a couple weeks ago and started the car prior to removing the upgrade parts

Make an offer. I would hate to see this car go to the scrapper.

Just tried getting some quotes for recovering the car back to sussex and the best one I have is about £200 - glup

I would slide in an over, but taking into account the recovery costs, it probably wouldnt be enough for you.

You should stick it up on ebay, you may get more interest on there.
