[Mk2] [NA] Anyone know where to get a plug 1/8-27NPT for a radiator?

Post by dave5526 »

I'm fitting a mishimoto aluminium radiator on friday and if you look at the item description they all say:

"NOTE: Non-Turbo models require the purchase of plug 1/8-27NPT"

Anyone know where I can get one? I'm guessing it's some kind of plug for a hole that the stock turbo radiator has and NA doesn't, googling brings up lots of varying results and I can't see which (if any) are relevant!

Unfortunately I dont even have the radiator here yet to check and see if I can figure out what I'll need.

Also I've noticed since I bought the rad back in june that the ebay listings (on ebay.com) now all say that non-turbo applications will require two 10' universal fans, why would this be? It didn't say that when I bought the item and surely I can still use the stock rad fan , I dont have an aircon condenser with it being UK so space shouldnt be an issue and as far as i'm aware the turbo doesnt have any more space for the radiator than the NA?

Any help appreciated!

i think

NPT main use in pumping, so pumping shop will have the bit
or just buy a sensor to block the hole

also AFAIK 1/8 NTP it is always 27 thread per inch

or go bling with those

NPT is generally an America thread. National Pipe Thread I think it stands for, where as UK uses BSP (British Standard Pipe)

Think-Auto would be a good bet.
