[Mk2] [Generic] please help...Mk2 front lights won't retract

Hello everyone..

Really hoping you can help as i'm a little stuck

My headlights have totally stopped 'popping up',
when i tried them again i could here the relay clicking and can actually feel it clicking as you switch the main lights on and off, but unsure if this is what retracts the lights? or if it is a seperate motor i have not found yet? i have looked through all the other mechanical questions and can't find the answer, so would really appreciate your help as i just have them manually wound up- which looks silly during the day

there is a motor on each headlight unit that pops them up and down, i had a similar problem with mine when i got it and it was the relay that had gone in my case

ah right so it could be the relay or the motor...so may be trial and error?

If it is both then it is more likely the relay, otherwise only 1 would rise.

as a temp fix, there is a knob inside the front bonnet which you can twist to manually raise them.

yeah managed to raise them manually thanks hun.... yeah its both of them...the headlights are working it just literally they won't 'pop up' or retract.

In the frunk there is a small blue control box behind the passenger side light, in the wheel well. This could be the problem. I've heard a few people say they've had issues with them.
