Hi
My Rev2 turbo is jerky under acceleration in the mornings for the first couple of miles and then smooths out. I have changed the spark plugs, ignition leads, dizzy cap and rotor arm and it has not cured the problem. Does anyone have any ideas about what to try next?
i had a simelar problem and it was because i had a crack in my downpipe. it was giving the lamba sensor false readings i think but when it was warm it didnt really affect it.
check for cracks and also check to see if your sensor is working ok. you may get an error code if its not.
I guess it could be the coil pack... this time of year we see a lot of them start to fail. Over time the plastic body cracks due to the heat they produce, then over night, especially when it rains etc the moisture gets in and the car won't run right until the coil has warmed up enough to dry out... its quite common.
Worth a check anyway, just remove it and see if the plastic is cracked.
No the switch controlls the injector.
No I do actually mean what I said, the cold start fuel injector which sits on the underside of the inlet manifold.
If this is faulty it will cause the quoted problems.
I would do what Matt said though first and check your coil pack.
Thanks for all of the ideas everyone. I have now changed the coil pack but sadly that does not seem to have cured the problem. I will have a look at the cold start injector next. I have a vague memory of one member writing a post about how setting the ignition timing properly made his car much smoother. I wonder if it is worth doing that on mine.
