Post by Reece »

I know this has been asked before loads but I need a quickish answer and I have tried searching but cant find a full defined list.
Does anyone know what the full list is of parts you need to convert my rev 1 turbo into a rev 3 turbo....

At the moment I have rev 3 injectors and rev 3 cams and I know I need

ECU
MAT
MAP
Ignitor

is there anything else guys?

Hi mate, i have a rev2 which im trying to upgrade to a rev3. The things i know so far are:
ECU
LOOM
MAP SENSOR
INTAKE MANIFOLD AND THROTTLE BODY

Thats it so far lol
The turbo i believe is a CT20 where we have the CT26, ( doesnt hold boost at high RPM

Be good to have a complete list like you said.

Plus what a rev 3 ignitor?

you dont want the intake mani / TB as the intake will not fit the rev2 head.

You can however fit a rev3 head to a rev2 bottom end, then use the rev3 intake etc.

vacuum line to plenum. you should use an inline filter too but i dont think there entirely necessary.

as a alternative just fit one of these.

map sensored in no time and much easier to go back to stock should you want to sell at a later date.

Job done, and loads of scope for future mapping.

hitch a ride

Hello Andy

Did you give me a lift to the Leeds auctions from YVS?
Just had the engine rebuilt after fitting some crap component which left oil all over the strip at York? (I was there to witness)

She seemed to be a pretty horny mota!

Rev 2 upgrades

Post by toyokid »

Hi Andy

Funny you should mention....
back at YVS next week to have a new plate fitted to my Helix 6 paddle,
once the finances catch up.....already spent a big one this month....

then I will fit my rev 2 Apexi power fc AP engineering ecu
I have already fitted a Rogue fuel pump and new fuel line and AET CT26 hybrid.

Was looking to get a rev 2 fuel rail from JJ to bore out ready for conversion
and swop over when I take mine off,
need to buy some 650-800cc injectors and a FPR, was thinking about aeromotive?

My understanding is that the AP engineering version of the Pfc only needs an IAT and MAP sensor to work?

Then....sometime thereafter
looking to fit Audi S6 front discs in place of my TT ones
together with ST205 4 pots
and 205 2 pot rear brakes.

Then get a soft top for everyday driving.

Hey ho....you asked!

Good to speak.

Hi Stephen
You have been busy lol

Not sure about the PFC, but sounds right!

The aeromotive should be fine, i use a HKS because they are simple
and i know they work.

might bump into you at YVS...i always seem to be hanging about

Sorry about the manifold and throttle body list! dont know where i heard that but just found out the hard way!

Now getting the manifold modified to fit as the ports in the head are to big! this came to me as a shock as does this mean the rev 2 head with a good maniflod is capable of more air flow?
