Another exhaust question

Post by matt77 »

I've elected to buy another exhaust rather than having my super megaphone welded up. I'm not sure how much of my system is standard pipework and how much has been replaced by the megaphone.

There are some good pics of a Super Megaphone on this thread:

And the pipe I'm interested in is this one:

If anybody could tell me whether I need to buy other parts to fit the ebay one, I'd appreciate it.

All ok thanks chaps. The decat pipe and exhaust were not an issue, emissions are well within limits and noise doesn't seem to have bothered the tester. It is louder than the old super megaphone but not as noisy as I expected from the Japspeed thread.

I am a bit annoyed that although I asked the garage to fit the new exhaust then test the car, they tested first and failed it before fitting the new pipe. Not only that, but they failed it on a number of things:

Sidelight bulbs not white/yellow (fair enough, they're white LED's with a slight blue tinge) (left/right)
Exhaust emissions too high
Number plate characters too small (front/rear)

After a lengthy phone call they admitted that my number plates were legal (they phoned VOSA to check) but this and the emissions test are still listed for all eternity on the MOT database. I know you can't check this database til you buy the car (first thing I do!) but I'm not happy to have all these failures on record. Just venting a bit because my girlfriend doesn't give a xxxx :) ](*,)
