Hello all

Post by GBTurbo »

Hi all bought a mk2 rev3 GT turbo yesterday in steel mist I think its called? Like a bluey grey silvery colour from pistonheads off a decent chap.

Its the first toyota i've ever owned and I really like it!

Its got an uprated intercooler, greddy profec b, hks dump valve and a mechanical boost controller think thats all.

I will probably fabricate some sort of induction pipe and thats probably about it right now, its running 1.2 bar according to greddy man which is talmost 17.5psi, the way it puts the power down is fantastic!

But anyway, looks like a really good forum and just a little hello really.

Haven't got round to anymore pictures I've just been driving it too much! \:D/

Cheers mate, yeah I wasn't too bothered about a t-bar the weather we get over here is rubbish anyway! Having owned a leaky sunroof car its not much fun.

Yeah i've been taking it real easy, I imagine it could get out of hand very quickly in the wrong conditions! :thumleft:

Hello and welcome, good looking 2. Get some more pics up when you do get out of it. First rear drive mid engine?
Enjoy the site and the car... they're both a lot of fun.

Yep first mid engined rwd.

Ha good point. Well I previously had a rover 620 turbo which I fitted a mechanical boost controller to and I did wonder why it had both. Surely it would be one or the other?

I had a look round the engine bay on the mr2 yesterday and I saw the boost controller, I also found a greddy boost control valve, but with no pipes going to it but it is plugged into something.. (electrically)

I also got with the car another identical greddy boost control valve..

Obviously these are something to do with the profec, but.. I would have assumed that it could only read the boost if it had pipes going to it..?

It seams to read the boost accurately and I believe it could well be running at 1.2 bar.

Anybody shed any light?

update

Post by GBTurbo »

Well been a little busy to the car:

Fitted SBits gear linkage bearings
Made my own cold air feed
Replaced headlight bulbs with Osram nightbreakers and changed sidelights to white leds
Shiny TRD oil cap and TRD radiator cap
Sorted out stereo wiring
Ditiched the old aerial and bought a new internal one which I hid in the boot

Going to add an external temp sensor, and need to change the reverse light sensor. So far its been good shiz

I bought these ones

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0346448984

I thought I put led ones in there #-o lol but look alright. I was going to get an led one with like 4 leds in but I read a few articles about them getting really quite hot and melting the plastic around them. So I avoided that!
