[Mk2] [Turbo] Dyno results, about right for mods?

Post by Steve-m-uk »

Recently put my car on the dyno and achieved 305.9hp and 291 lb/ft on a stock turbo and fuelling with an ST205 chargecooler and berk d/p and system, blitz boost controller was set to give 1.2bar. Please have a look at my printouts and comment if you can tell anything from them i.e fuelling correct or not and am i seeing the full potential of the current setup.

nice power curve  Figures look good, I'm assuming flywheel? I think 300flywheel is about right for the std fuelling and ECU. Any more requires ECU upgrades though the more experienced guys will give you better info :thumleft:

Yes the first figure is fly 305 and the second is at the wheels 259, sounds like it's a fit engine then :D I notice that i produced noticeably more torque and held onto it longer than the other mr2's on the day, could this be down to the chargecooler and it's shorter path to the inlet manifold?

Those are very good figures for running the standard ecu, personally i would be pretty chuffed, how does the car drive ?

The chargecooler definitely helps with those figures, especially midrange :thumleft:

I'm very happy with the way it drives, comes on boost very strong and holds the boost right upto the redline,I was expecting somewhere in the region of 270 to 280 so was over the moon when it broke into the 300's \:D/

boost is just about straight but your fueling is a bit up and down , oxy sensor?
i think afr is 14.7 until it it goes onto the map, yours is a touch lean

Nice result, obviously a healthy engine :thumleft:

I managed 288 at the hubs the last time I was on the rollers, same bolt on mods as you and with stock ECU, turbo and fuelling. I've posted up my graphs for comparison.

Just by way of an update, today i went to the Racing Line again where a friend of mine Rob was having his mr2 mapped. Recently i got hold of a used power fc for a decent price which had already been mapped on a gt4 with similar mods to mine so decided to use it as is and get on the rollers to test it as soon as possible.Once Robs car was done i managed to get my car squeezed in for a quick power run, very happy with the results \:D/
