One of the issues was overheating which was identified as copper pipes to heater behind heat sheild leaking coolant.
Prior to fixing this i haven't driven the car much over 50mph.Today i took it out to give it a hard run feeling confident it was safe to do
so on leaving my garage i found the car wouldn't idle and kept cutting out so thought i would continue with the trip out and it may clear itself.
It was after 2mins of creeping up to nearly top speed i glanced in my rear
veiw mirror and found i was leaving a trail of red hot glowing embers in my wake,so pulled over straight away and opened the engine lid and saw
there was glowing metal around the turbo area.
After letting it cool down for 30mins i had a quick check in the engine bay
and notice the pipe for the idle air controler
(ac) intake had come off which explains the previous idle problem,drove off again didnt drive to hard but enough to give it a work out and didnt see any more glowing embers,also have just realised that the turbo heat sheild is missing would any of the above be why i saw these red hot embers flying out the
back off the car?am i worried over nothing or should i be concerned.
