Any body know if it will effect anything on removal (other than emissions)

nope i just stripped it out and connect the pipes together. Never had any problems

Idiot question, i thought this was connected to the aircon system... what is it for? :oops:

not the aircon, its something to do with emissions... but why remove it
if it does nothing, do you gain any bhp out of it?? better performance
or it just nicer to have it out the way :-#

Its just another item in the engine bay that does nothing other than make my car smell nice and be kind to the environment..

It's job is to absorb fumes from the fuel tank, cleanse the nasty stuff out then throw the remains into the intake to be burnt as normal - as mentioned, it's an emmisions reduction step.

It technically shouldn't pass the MOT without it, as you are not allowed to directly vent any gases to the atmosphere. But no-one ever bothers checking for those kind of things.
