[Mk2] [NA] AM2 fuse problem ... again. Please help!

Post by as8133 »

I have read and re read the threads on the AM2 fuse and don't have an answer.

Problem: Key turned to on and the fans come on and lights on dash light up. Turn to fire and the AM2 fuse blows.

can someone give me a list of things i should check in order?

Well after much head scratching it turns out it was down to the immobiliser system which looks like it was put in by a blind man. Loom under the dash was hacked to bits and a short in the rear fuse box was probably the final cause. IUmmobiliser system removed and car started first time!!! Sounds a bit ropey but that the next thing to fix!
