After taking my car for a hard blast down a bumpy road, my speedo stopped working.
I though it had packed up completely, but it came back on for a little bit, then stopped again and hasnt started since.
On the dials, my temp, fuel gauge and rev counter all works fine, its just the speedo, and speedo clocks (trip and main) that have stopped working.
Are they cable or electronic? could it be a cable popped out and where are they located?
Thanks in advance
Dan

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Speedo stopped working - intermittent
Sounds like your gearbox speed sensor has, or is about to give up the ghost. It controls the speedo and milometer - might do the revs also but mine didnt break that.
From the sound of things you dont have an aftermarket ecu....mine failed at speed while having a play with an aston martin.......BANG!!! 1.6bar and a 6ft flame out the exhaust lol.
Car went into launch control as it thought it was at zero lol.
They go for circa £50ish quid and are electric - bu88er to fit though. Have to remove the rear engine mount to get it in.
Hope this helps
