[Mk2] [Turbo] ct26 c20b diffferences

Post by simpson_eh »

Hi all

i own a rev 3 turbo with a c20 turbo which has gone, i can get hold of a ct26 cheap so was wondering are the oil feeds etc all the same? and does anything need modding

i know its going backwards but this is just a stop gap until i can forge the bottom end and get a nice turbo

regards

Something is different, think it's the oil return pipe, plus the ct26 has an extra stud on the exhaust side.

I wouldn't buy one if i were you though because plans change and you might end up never forging the car due to costs etc.

you would then be stuck with the ct26 until you sold the car, easy trap to get into.. :-k

You will have to undo the centre strap
and re-orientate the turbo to enable it to line up.
The exhaust stud is a red herring!

From personal experience
I think you are p1$$ing in the wind with second hand turbos!

Mine broke
and sent chaff into the engine
requiring the head off
new valve
and head gasket

Have been happy with the newly rebuilt AET turbo though.

ct26 has differnt oil feed, and different water pipes than the ct20, can be simply swapped over though.

When you say it has gone, what is wrong with it? If it is just the seals and bearings I get sell you a kit to replace them or do the work for you.

Why the T28? Cant imagine its going to be any better than the stage1 CT26, for a lot of hassle to fit.
