I dont know BUT I do know that the standard manifold is pretty good so any performance gain would be neglible.
If you can't see the angle, you're in trouble.

I have had two tubular SC manifolds fail on me.

The problem is the tubular manifolds tend to be thinner than the standard cast ones and fatigue a lot easier as a result. The inner diameters are also only marginally greater too.

Performance gains are so minimum, you won't notice the difference either - less than 2bhp proven on a roling road.
Although coupled with a decent backbox, they do sound awesome 8)

the "rasp" though will increase as the tubular manifold cracks and fall apart!

After my two had broke I shopped around. The best quote I got was just under £400 by JP Exhausts in Macclesfield who came highly recommended.

The cheapest quote was just over £300, but the place had a bad reputation.

If you have £500 odd to burn, go for it, but you'll need another £500 a year or two later to rpelace it (unless you put back the standard manifold).

Waste of time & money IMO, but each to their own etc... :thumleft:

Here's the one from my N/A that broke:

As you can see above, the metal is very thin and therefore prone to break due to fatigue.

And this was our SC's one before it broke. It only lasted two weeks after it was re-wrapped.

System-G, your first one looks like its made by Trust, also known as Greddy in America. Same one as in this auction - http://page6.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/f77630493 - scroll down to the second and third pics.

I'm picking up the Cusco tomorrow, will have a close look at it.

was the orginal centre support fitted from the back of the block? it gives loads more support to the manifold without it, it stands no chance. also stainless hates heat so wrapping them makes them fight against their own weld eventualy cracking. the only solution is to ceramic coat the inside of the exhaust.
heres the pick of the one i had...

I've run stainless manifolds on a number of cars from road cars to full on race saloons to caterhams etc... All wrapped no problems. It is seen as "essensial" to wrap them to minimalise heatsoak and keep the temps down in the engine bays.

The SC's one ran for well over 4 years without support and wrapping before breaking.
The N/A which I got second hand (or possibly even 3rd hand) worked well for over 3 months before breaking. I don't know how long Chris (or the previous owner) had it on their cars.

Tom has been running a S/S maifold on his SC for over a year now too with no breakages. His is not supported and is not wrapped.

I just decided that the expense of replacing them vs performance gains, was just not worth it. The OEM manifold is not much heavier and has a decent enough bore for the system to work well enough :thumleft:
