[All] [Generic] Piston Identification

Post by BrianUK »

Hi Guys - hope you can help me.

Im looking to replace one of the pistons one my Rev 3 Turbo (its fitted with a rev 5 motor)

The Piston has the two numbers engraved on the crown:

080904-3
9055D050

I have looked in the toyota EPC - and I cant find any reference to these numbers. Im begining to suspect that the engine is fitted with a set of forged pistons....

...Or it may be that someone has acces to a later version of the Toyota EPC and that this is a new number....

Do a google search on the second number and it comes up with 86.5mm wossner forged pistons for the 3SGTE. :thumleft:

Check out the link below.

Cheers Lewis - I did have a search on eBay but didnt find the Connection to Wossner. It does look like my motor is fitted with Woosner Pistons... like this:

Will have to call them and see if they will sell a single piston!

A broken inlet valve has made a small mark in the crown of piston 4 ( I have removed the head and got a replacement unit).

Its a small mark but if I dont replace it I wont ever trust the motor again, The piston set is pretty new (there isnt even any carbon on them) so I dont want to replace the lot - Im hoping I can order just the one...

was gonna say, probably one of the best pistons out there, not heard of one breaking before
send a pic to wossner and ask their opinion on the mark?
