I have a set of gab lined up and need to know they are applicable to my car...

not unless your struts are the rebuildable version from an earlier revision

+1They need to be rebuildable, if you have Bilsteins you'll be out of luck.

they're black ones which I pressume are "black billies"...these are the rebuildable type arn't they?

Nope...
But saying that, standard rebuilds are black too. Feel around the top of the strut (inside the spring) for a big hex head. Guessing the size... 60mm. 
If they are rev2 turbo standards, they'll be Billies..

nice one...I thought they must be, now to find a diagram to give me the measurements of the insert bodies...so I don't buy the wrong bits
