Silicon Hose Kits?

Post by SteveM »

Just spotted this on ebay but didn't think there was such a kit available? There certainly isn't one listed on the Samco website, has anyone seen one for sale before?

Jo was meant to be sorting a silicone hose kit via the MK1 Club last year, but with our wedding and other things, she ran out of time.

We have all the hoses required, but she now just needs to find a free day to speak to a manufacturer.

£150 for Samco branded is not bad IMO. However, if it went much above £170 or £180 it would be a hard cost to swallow.

The auction has ended for these now but I'd been trying to confirm if this was in fact a MK1 kit, or as I suspect a MK2 (non-turbo) kit before I bid. I'd already asked the seller who said he bought it from Merlin Motorsport and gave me a link to the product on their website but it appreared to be a MK2 kit according to the description. I've been waiting for both Merlin Motorsport and Samco to reply to my enquiries and they have now both replied saying there is no MK1 kit available :? Merlin did say however that Samco had told them they were considering producing a kit but couldn't give any time scales for it at the moment.

They are correct there is no existing MK1 kit which is why Jo was looking into getting one made to sell through the MK1 clubs a couple of years ago.

I dug out the original hose kit crazylegs gave her to use as a template which is now sat in our hall. so hopefully this will inspire her to finally do something. However, it will be a couple of week before we know anything either way :thumleft:

Thread bump! (Sorry)

Is there anything on the market yet for Mk1s? I'm looking at sprucing up my 1a a little :)

The MK1 Club website got so far on a group buy last year, I think we were waiting on someone to send off the hoses to get it all sized up.
I'd guess that's where we still are!
