rear brake pads mr2 mk3
hi guys .is there something i need to know before fitting rear brake pads to my mr2 mk3 cheers.
Re: rear brake pads mr2 mk3
Not really. If you can change pads on a car then you can do it on a mk3, nowt special about them.
Re: rear brake pads mr2 mk3
I was wondering about this, too.....
My query was regarding setup of the handbrake?
On the mk1 you have to pump the pedal 30 times or so to set the piston BEFORE you pull the handbrake lever for the first time, otherwise the HB never works properly.......!
Is there any similar procedure with the Mk3..?

The piston winds back in. A special tool helps.
The procedure for adjusting things up is very similar Greg.

Oh...you can't just use a large G clamp, then..?
.....or does that qualify as a "special" tool.......?
Re: rear brake pads mr2 mk3
No Greg, the pistons actually have to rotate back in. If you try and compress with a G clamp, you'll do some damage. Fronts compress like this, but rears wind back in. You really need a windback tool.

Cheers for that..
