help needed, setting up cam timing

Post by richard cash »

right, ive got the cam covers off, the pully off and underneath its a little oily/grimey but i guess thats from 15years of use, its not excessive and its not on any of the pullys or belt.

ive taken the old belt out but didnt think to mark any of the pullys, is this needed? theres a little mark on the oil pully which suggests TDC can be taken from this and therefore needs to be set up for timing too.

is this right or is it just the crank pully and 2 cal pullys that need to be set to one another.

I would imagine its just the cam and crank pulleys that need to be timed.

What engine is it, not sure if the set up is the same for each one.
