outside warranty but within 3 year warranty for 3 red lights so sending it off.

I've had one go in 3 years and it didnt actually get the RROD

I cant see how some people go through them like toilet paper and some hardly, if ever, have issues?

it does seem to be fairly random as to when they go or even if they do.

ive said before. when i first got one i went through 3 in a week.

having had any problems since though and that must be nearly 3 years ago.

The one I had go was a very early one as well, I bought it second hand 2 years ago and it was already 2 years old I think.

Obviously dude, heat fest.

I had 7 fans on mine too. What a waste of money. My xbox lasted 1 month longer than the one before it with no additional fans.

Conclusive evidence that additional cooling does sod all except make your xbox break outside your standard 12 month warranty.

when my elite broke,i was only downloading demos in switched of mode,so don't think its down to usage.my mates elite also did it and he had only been on it 2 hours.And both our systems are well ventilated and not even 12 months old.

I thought they had sorted this glitch out on the elites,thats why i stumped the extra for it.If I'd known would have got the cheaper white one lol.

great system but obviously a bad design flaw somewhere.

can you remember which demo you were downloading?

a forza demo killed mine and my mates didnt seem to like a pro evo demo he downloaded.

sorry,no. I have forza so i know it wasn't that and don't like football games.

I sent it off and it came back quick but was pi$$ed off as my case had dents in it(was totally unmarked when sent) and also some of my games glitch/freeze for a fraction of a second,which they didn't b4

I had a pro for just over a year and had no problems at all, sold it on here when I got my Elite.

I have now had the Elite for must be over a year now and again no problems, well Flashing red lights as I had a quick power cut but turned the 360 off and on again and it was fine.

Overall about 3 years with a 360 and no faults
