SUNDAY 5th JULY IMOC Isle of White Day out

Post by Tiny »

works out about £35 on redfunnel for a car and 2 passengers leaving at about 7am coming back about 7pm. on Sunday 5th July.

Leaving from Southampton

Breakfast in cowes.

Then hoon about in Parkhurst forest on some of the best roads

Down to allum bay and the needles.

round the coastal road to blackgang and ventnor before heading down to Sandown to spend the afternoon on the beach/at the zoo/on the peir before heading back round to cowes for a pub tea before heading back on the ferry.

Thought it would be something nice to do and abit different and its not that exspensive.

Outbound Crossing 08:00 arriving at 08:55 £16

Return Crossing 18:30 arriving 19:25 £19

I have the contact details of their group bookings person and have enquired about a group booking discount if we can get a decent number of cars together we may get it cheaper.

Meeting at the Leisure world Car park in southampton next to IKEACLICKYat 07:00 to move down to the Quay at 07:30.

For those that don't want to have the breakfast in Cowes there is a later crossing of 09:00 getting you to Cowes at 10:00 and we can all meet up then.

Thought it would be something nice to do and abit different and its not that exspensive. :thumleft:

We can request Top Deck which is level opposed to upper/lower deck. shouldnt have any problems and they have ramps to aid lift :thumleft:

Won't that sort of depend on the height of the tide?

Nope Used to But no more
Check out the google image of the Ferry Ramp CLICKY ME yoll have to drag the pic to the right and up for some reason to see the ramp

you can see the lifting mechanism that raises/lowers the ramp to height of the ferry
The boat-ramp is level and its just the incline on the ramp but its really long so it wont be too sharp for lowered vehicles

same on the Portsmouth side CLICKY ME TOO

right Had a reply from the chap and we will get %10 discount and given top deck priority for no extra charge so its £31.50 return through Redfunnel (this only applies to the early ferry not the post breakfast one)

I need a list of people who are definetly interested before 12:00 Wednesday. :+:

This is a gr8 idea the coast/miltary road is excellent & Ventnor esplanade was the venue 4 a hill climb back in the day + there's a superb bit of tarmac from Sandown 2 Ryde via Bembridge Airport.
Look forward to my 1st IMOC trip & meeting up with everyone count me in

Totally fair point. Only found out I had the weekend booked off yesterday so couldn’t confirm before.

Would it not be easier to see if they will give us a discount code and then people book there own tickets with the code?
That way your not out of pocket and if people don’t turn up it’s there loss not yours.
