Good condition particularly for red, completely standard other than after market wheels, new tyres fitted (budget).

Interior original, would benefit from a good valeting.

Looks like it has a Rev1 front splitter.

thanks, yes could be rev1 or rev2, my other turbo mk2 has a rev1 splitter, but is definitely rev 2, can't confirm which rev until the V5 arrives, so we can determine date of first registration, although I guess an HPI report from the private plate would confirm this, will adjust post appropriately once we know.

Forgot to mention in earlier post, car has 119,000 miles on the clock, runs superbly, with no issues, has been stored for over 12 months, sills, arches and underneath all appear to be solid. Inspection welcome

Does it have a long (Rev1) gearstick or a stubby (Rev2 onwards) one?
Does it have the all plastic (Rev1) tweeter covers or black mesh (Rev2 onwards) ones?
Does it have a large three spoke steering wheel with the left and right spokes pointing diagonally downwards (Rev1) or are the side spokes horizontal (Rev 2-4)?

Judging by the ride height, it looks like a Rev1 to me.

Other ways to tell. Brake disc size, anti roll bar thickness, electronic or cable speedo?

Or, if you can't be bothered to take the car apart, just look at the chassis number and compare it with these:

Revision 1
December 1989 to December 1991
Chassis JT163SW2000000001 to JT163SW2000059265

Revision 2
December 1991 to November 1993
Chassis JT163SW2000059266 to JT163SW2000087385

Revision 3
November 1993 to June 1996
Chassis JT163SW2000087386 to JT163SW2000106662

Revision 3 (10th Aniversary Ltd Edition)
December 1995 to Febuary 1996
Chassis JT163SW200010????

Revision 4
June 1996 to December 1997
Chassis JT163SW2000106663 to JT163SW2000110780 (Approx)

Revision 5
December 1997 to August 1999
Chassis JT163SW2000110780 (Approx) to End of Production

12/89 -> 12/91 Rev1
12/91 -> 10/93 Rev2
10/93 -> 10/95 Rev3
10/95 -> 10/97 Rev4
10/97 -> 03/00 Rev5

Not got any interior pics to hand but will certainly get some. Not 100% sure on PAS, but I don't think it has, but will check

The date that it was registered has no real reflection on what revision it is. What i mean is a car could have rolled off the production line in 1990 meaning its a rev1, but then could be left unregistered for multiple years, say it was registered in 1995, that now doesnt make the car a rev 3 :wink:

Only real way to check is by the chassis number, or the above revision differences thats been listed above

Well, I stand corrected! it's a rev1 from the chassis number, the latter part is 56.... although registered 24/4/92, on a J reg plate, private plate change in 95, and from an Experian check has no claims or any sinister history

We got there in the end, thanks guys :thumleft:

MR2 has been for MOT today, failed on two minor things, handbrake adjustment, like they all do, and exhaust flexi, both will be repaired by the weekend, so car comes with 12 months full MOT for £1250

Bit more info about the car, mileage is 119k, no service history. Completely standard other than the wheels, car as barely been used in the past 18 months or so. 4 new tyres recently fitted, drives superb, and has solid sills and wheel arches, no noticeable surface rust, tidy example for the year. £1250

Few more photos, may have a few more on my pc at work I can post up too

Looks nice apart from the untidy interior. :(

Plus we'd have to factor in the cost of a new timing/aux belt kit, all new fluids.
Is this price negotiable?
The exterior does look nice though. :thumleft:
