[Mk2] [Turbo] jerky jerky......

Post by justarn »

hey all, can anyone help? I was driving home with my lady, from a lovely meal through some great twisty lanes half hour ago when my rev1 turbo started jerking as if it were struggling for fuel? the air fuel guage was reading a wide flickering band from lean too stock even when loaded, with no engine light. as soon as i load the throttle usually its nice an rich, an it jus came back from a tune and check up 1 week ago! i drove on for 15 minutes like this to get home, very gingerly n jerky mind you lol. . .

my first thoughts are fuel pump or lamba? any ideas anyone?

p.s it felt just as if it were running out of fuel! its definatly got fuel in the tank  !

Sorry, I can't help it. You took your girlfriend out, drove home and on the lanes she started jerky jerky. I would not complain about that.

On a serious note it could be a dead fuel pump.

right its had new top grade plugs leads rotor arm cap and its still hesitant, timing is spot on.....? wont boost past six psi! air fuel guage looks good. what symptoms would a faulty ignitor and coil pack give? could my big spark have damaged them?

lamba? air leak? dunno, been lookin in the engine for ages an everything seems to be in order pipe wise?

any ideas people? starting to get expensive ](*,)

still no fault codes?

Most likely an Air Leak, I got hesitation on my Rev2 above about 0.7bar. I made a Boost leak tester and pressurised my whole system and found loads of leaks :thumleft:

Might not help, but untill I gapped my plugs to 0.7, I was getting the jerky jerky.
