Found a bodged connector under engine - help! (pics)

Post by asdrewq »

I was looking about trying to establish the source of my oil leak and i found this 2-pin connector on the bottom of the engine on the cambelt side-

It has been bodged up with some blue wire. What is it for? I'm worried I might have bought a lemon now.

just a guess..but maybe it connects to the oil pressure switch???

its easier for you to search for a missing plug conneciton, or pull out the blue wire and see what warning light pops on

Had the same question - and mine was for an oil temperature sender. Mine is made by Greddy - as it turns out everything else was wired up I just had to buy a new sender as it looked like the wire had snapped onthe original (still in sump)

So it looks identical to the one I have - http://www.hopupracing.com/desime60tu.html

ah yeah, could be bridged to stop the fan warning light appearing on the dash.

I had the same on mine. I'm guessing if you pull it out the oil warning light will come on!
