[Mk2] [Turbo] TD06 Woes need tech help

Post by Munnsy »

This has been nothing but trouble trying to get this thing to fit ](*,)

i ordered an 18mm 1.5 down to -6, then reduced that to -4, the 18MM end that connects to the block is the wrong size ](*,)
Can someone give me the correct size please, poor old luke pulling his hair out etc.

Also cant find anywhere to get the gasket for the exhaust side of the turbo, does anyone know where i can get one of these also,

need both asap so much much appreciated

I don't think the td06 kit from ATs Racing comes with the gasket you are after. I think they just bolt on. Pm Gee man as he recently fitted a Td06 kit to his tubby.

He maybe able to help

Why doesnt Luke size it up from the old Banjo bolt.

I'm sure it's a 10mm x 1.25 pitch for Rev 3 and 18mm x 1.25 for Rev 1+2

I've tried Pirtek a couple of times to get the block fitment, but with no joy.... Always had to get a banjo made up at the end of the line and some copper washers to clamp it down to.

The thread in the block is exactly the same as the fuel rail high pressure attachment, also the fuel filter attachments.. only the head is a different size ( 17mm to 19mm )

luke has sent back the adaptor, along with the same sized thread and bolt from the block for exchange,
so fingers crossed on that part
As for the gasket on the turbo, i see everyone just uses the 3 bolt triangular gasket foe the downpipe?? is this correct, bearing in mind the internal wastgate has been sealed and welded??

cheers guys
dave

Oh and whats this banjo bolt thing look like, and how have you adapted it jj??

I've just been had this pipe made up today at my local Pirtek for my Rev 3.
I had a banjo fitting put on one end, So I still use the original bolt into the block & I had 90 degree elbow with a -4an fitting put on the other end. it cost me £30 cash.

Do you have it all sorted now? If not I could get another one made up for you and post it straight to Lukes if needed.

Fingers crossed. Very nice chaps at Earls said they'd post it friday.

ps- found a perfect metal multi-layer gasket for turbo - downpipe at my local partco. I'll get the part number if anyone wants it.
