cleaning the apexi air filter

What's the best way to clean the filter element on an apexi power intake?
can it be done, & what products will i need?
any info appreciated :thumleft:

some filters are bathed in oil i think k/n do cleaning kits but i think apexi's just get blown out with an airline im sure somebody will corect me on this though. :thumleft: :thumleft: :thumleft:
she's all comming together nicely now after a fair bit of cash spent, not bad for just an n/a now for some body kit i think.

used air on mine as i read somewhere that blowing out with air was the way to do it. cant remember where i read it tho lol

Give it a decent blow through with air line :thumleft: IIRC oiling it will not do the element any good.

BTW dude did you get the non return valve sorted?

Yep, Apexi themselves say that for cleaning the filter you should blow it out with an airline and NOT oil it. However don't be fooled by them saying that you'll never need to replace the element. They do wear out and you will need to replace it at some point.

If you have the factory recirc valve still you will be cleaning it out every time you get the goose honk :)

he means if your still running the factory dump valve, it has a recirculation pipe that dumps the air back into the intake. IE the dogleg spur pipe that comes off the side of the apexi filter. This is a sudden burst of high preussure air fired down the pipe which should blow out the filter element from the inside each time the bov goes off. :thumleft:
