.reve 3+ is simple to get say 330bhp out of it, but if you wanted more i'd go down the route of forged rebuild and bigger turbo, i still dont think 400bhp will realyl get you near a 10.8 though.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
Think you would need 500+ to even think of getting near 10's! Pulsars notoriously hook up well on the 1/4 mile
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
I assume the pulsar is running 500 WHP
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
? which
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
, given 4x4 transmission would mean he has to be running about 800 fly bhp
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
(given an estimated 35% trans losse)
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
If he is running 500 Fly bhp
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
, then after a 35% loss
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
(which is a generous guess!), thats 325whp
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
-which
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
;and correct me if im wrong, shouldn't be anywhere near enough to get in the 10's unless it had the weight of an ariel atom!!
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
However, there is an mr2 guy in the usa running 450bhp on a 3076r
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
,with a standard head
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
(except cams), std rev2 inlet and a CC
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
(iirc) which run 10.88 but he was on C16.

i dont really agree that 4wd has any benefits over a Mid engine RWD on the drag strip.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
4wd's suffer from bad transmission losses and the grip advantage is only useful in slippery conditions.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
Watch any drag car, or drag mr2 even.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
Nice set of drag tyres on the back, 2-step launch and they will be track standing! they wont be doing that if they cannot grip!
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
yeh that is a good point, i would defo think it would be 500bhp at the wheels.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
.didnt think whether it would be fly, or wheel.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
but here, when did i mention i thought 4wd benefitted more
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
on the 1/4 than rear wheel 2's? I have an MR2 turbo remember and i have done the 1/4 mile against 300bhp evo's and scoobys and beat them.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
I know 4WD suffer dreadful transmission loss's.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
I easily stayed with the 4WD boys if not beat them off the line on the 1/4.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
.i am only running just over standard power.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
.about 260bhp.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
I was just stating, i think the Pulsar's hook up extremely well off the line! Imo, better than scoobs and impreza's and maybe about the same as an mr2 turbo,(MAYBE ever so slightly).
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
.but depends on the driver

![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
@ Jim, i'm not sure abotu that lad
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
:S I'm fairly certain the Pulsars at crail when i was up.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
.3 of them i think, none of them ran near 11's! And pulsars arent exactly the type of car you see standard! fairly certain they werent.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
Yeh you can take into account xxxx drivers etc.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
but one of the pulsars only did one run and got a 13.5, one of them did two runs and got 14.2 and 14.5(must be a crap driver
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
)and the other pulsar ran about 12 times and had times varying from 14.2 and got quicker along the day and quickest was a 13 flat.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
So i dont think you'll find 300-320 bhp pulsars running in the 11's.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
.depends if your talking fly or wheel bhp here i suppose though
![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
Just my 2p
